What the estimate covers

Labor to replace one control arm (most often a front lower arm) that comes with new bushings and, where built in, the ball joint. Pressing separate bushings into an old arm, seized bolts, rust and some rear multi-link arms take longer. The arm is extra, and a wheel alignment is needed afterward (not included). Worn control arm bushings typically cause clunks over bumps, wheel bounce or wander; many shops recommend replacing arms in pairs.

Labor hours used: 1–3 h, our own editorial estimate (not taken from a licensed labor guide).
