What the estimate covers

Labor to replace the cabin blower motor (the fan that pushes heated or cooled air through the vents); the motor is extra. On most vehicles it sits behind the glove box or a lower dash panel; some need more of the dash or console taken apart, and rear (third-row) blowers on large SUVs can take longer. A blower that only works on some speeds usually points to the blower resistor or control module rather than the motor, and a rattle or knock can be leaves or debris in the fan cage, so a quick inspection comes first.

Labor hours used: 0.5–2 h (typical 0.8 h), our own editorial estimate (not taken from a licensed labor guide).
